Pioneer Workshop AWARENESS: Creating a social initiative to support young women in our professionals’ fields
Rising Girls Global presentation will focus on very first steps of the creation of the social initiative. What were the main steps in the project management, how we solved our issues and challenges and the most important – how the project was manageable considering that all co-founders were in different countries and managed to meet only via Zoom. Besides being young professionals in their domains, Rising Girls Global is a project that co-founders dedicate their free time to and on the top of it – has managed to find work-life balance. All in all, the most important is the outcome – this project has led to success empowering hundreds of young women in different countries, but mostly – in Southeast Asia.
Learning goals summary:

Deepening understanding of the process of initiating a social initiative online while being able to discuss a project plan that includes clear objectives, timelines, and expected outcomes, utilizing the information and resources provided.

Understand how to address challenges in cross-border / international projects (for instance, virtual team) and propose strategies to solve them (for example, collaboration tools).

Deepening the comprehension of the critical importance of education for girls by being able to explain, with specific examples and evidence, how it promotes gender equality, economic growth, and social development.
Biography
Vilma Luize Gertane is a co-founder of Rising Girls Global, a social initiative that was created under Women@Dior X UNESCO program. Rising Girls objective is to support 17-25 years old women to follow their dream career. In the team, Vilma is responsible of external relations, as well as was podcast host and speaker in most of the international events Rising Girls is participating. Besides being a co-founder of this social initiative, in her daily life Vilma is based in Paris and working in the field of international relations and speaking multiple languages.
