Self-care Workshop: Personal Mastery – Stress and Resilience Management
Having been a project manager before myself, I’m aware of the stress that project managers are exposed to and how that impacts their performance and overall wellbeing. Although there is a lot of value in mindfulness, yoga, breathwork, etc., it doesn’t address the core issue. In this session, we will explore what stress really is and impact that it has. We have adopted this belief that some level of stress is good for our performance, but is that true?
We will uncover a simple strategy to cultivate resilience and witness a demonstration of that. As we can see from observing the people around us that we respond differently to similar situations. Why is that? Why is one person better in adapting or bouncing back in the face of adversity, trauma, or significant stress, while someone else can’t.
Learning goals summary:
-
Understanding stress
-
Cultivating resilience
-
Getting an experience of applying a simple strategy to cultivate resilience.
Biography
I have worked for about 15 years as a project/program manager in the telecom industry. About 10 years ago I switched to a long-time passion of mine, Personal Development and Leadership, to educate, empower and elevate people. I noticed that stress, overwhelm, fear and anxiety have been the main causes for slow of no growth, lower performance, poor relationships, and most important, a lack of fulfilment in their live. Since I made the switch, I have been training groups, coaching individuals and teaching students and have impacted thousands of people this way.
