Stefan Dierckx began his career in 1996 as a consultant for IBM before joining Capco in 1998 where he specialised in capital markets and banking transformation. In 2006, he founded Projective Group, a leading consultancy dedicated to driving high-end change and innovation within the financial services sector. With offices across Europe, the organisation specialises in strategy, consulting and talent solutions.

Under Stefan's leadership, Projective Group expanded through notable acquisitions like Charco & Dique, Finance Club, DTSQUARED, Exellys, Thede Consulting, Enigma, Mastermind and GDFM. The organisation’s core values, pragmatism, entrepreneurship and selflessness, drive its mission to deliver lasting transformations within financial services. In 2025, Stefan also founded the Projective Group Institute, further strengthening the organisation’s commitment to knowledge sharing, learning and industry development.

Stefan is also active in fintech investments. In 2014, he co-founded Smartfin Capital, focusing on growth-stage investments, followed by Smartfin Ventures a year later to target early-stage investments in the ‘tech for fin’ space. In 2015, Stefan and Jurgen Ingels founded The Glue, a software company helping financial institutions implement digital strategies, where Stefan served as CEO.

Stefan’s leadership also reflects his focus on sustainability, with Projective Group engaging in pro bono projects, volunteer programmes and environmental sustainability initiatives aimed at reducing emissions and promoting responsible business practices. His people-centric approach ensures that his team remains the foundation of Projective Group's continued success.
